Dicewoven Fables

✨ “Pull the threads. Weave your legend.” ✨

wyrd-rune Weaving takes time — Buy us a Mead 🍺 (Or Coffee) ☕

In the beginning, there was the Loom. Threads stretched across eternity, binding mortals, monsters, and mysteries into patterns unseen. But the Rifts tore holes in the weave, spilling chaos into the world. Now, heroes rise where the threads fray — iron-bound warriors, tale-weaving poets, Rift-marked brawlers, and death-bound mages. Their choices knot or sever destiny itself.

Dicewoven Fables is a tabletop role-playing game of stories shaped like threads. Every roll is a tug at fate, every triumph or failure another stitch in the tapestry. Heroes clash with horrors that buckle under Pressure, shape worlds with their deeds, and carve legends into the Loom.

Here, no story is ever the same. The threads are in your hands.

Pull them. Weave them. Break them. And see what fable you leave behind.

ABOUT DICEWOVEN FABLES

A Beginner-Friendly Fantasy TTRPG by The Wyrd Loom

What Is Dicewoven Fables?

Dicewoven Fables is a beginner-friendly fantasy tabletop role-playing game designed to welcome new players into the hobby. The rules are easy to learn, the progression is simple to follow, and every part of the system is built to support creative storytelling and cinematic action at the table.

Whether you’re completely new to role-playing games or a long-time player looking for something fresh, Dicewoven Fables is designed to be accessible, exciting, and endlessly replayable.

Simple Rules. Big Stories.

Dicewoven Fables avoids complicated maths and heavy rulebooks. Instead, it focuses on:

  • Clear, structured mechanics that are easy to understand

  • Narrative-first play, where creativity drives the story

  • Momentum-based combat, creating fast and cinematic action

  • Modular rules, allowing groups to add depth at their own pace

At its core, Dicewoven gives players enough structure to feel confident while leaving plenty of space for imagination to breathe.

The Weave Momentum System

Combat in Dicewoven is powered by a unique mechanic called Weave Momentum — a flowing turn structure where actions shift the rhythm of the fight.

Rather than relying on rigid initiative orders, Dicewoven uses a simple success-based mechanic that keeps scenes dynamic, responsive, and easy to follow for newcomers and experienced players alike.

An Evolving Fantasy World

Beyond the rules, Dicewoven Fables is set in a growing world shaped by ongoing creative writing, including:

  • Short stories

  • Lore entries

  • Narrative chapters

  • Character spotlights

  • Flora & fauna notes

These pieces expand the tone, atmosphere, and mythology of the setting.
They are designed to complement the game but can also be enjoyed simply as standalone fantasy fiction.

Chapter One of the narrative series is already available for free, offering a glimpse into the world’s style and mood.

Who Is It For?

Dicewoven Fables is designed to be accessible and easy to understand for a wide range of players, including newcomers and younger players (such as pre-teens) who are exploring tabletop role-playing for the first time.

The system works well for:

  • New players of any age

  • Pre-teens and young teens who enjoy fantasy and creativity

  • Families or mixed-age groups

  • Story-focused players who prefer simple, cinematic rules

  • Libraries and community spaces offering creative activities

  • Readers who enjoy worlds supported by lore and short fiction

Dicewoven uses clear language, structured guidance, and straightforward mechanics — making it approachable for younger players while still offering depth and flexibility for older or more experienced groups.
